The leg-like lathed wood of ambiguous origin is swaddled in thick stockings. The smoothing and perfecting intentions of the stockings are in full effect, idealising what was once a tree and perhaps later part of a banister. The tray introduces a wetness – a threat to the contrived order of the bodily and interior terrains implied by the materials.
