Predominantly conceptual sculpture, Bee’s practice explores the idea of the abject body in relation to elements of the built environment and formalised spaces. Whether fascinated by the profound intimacy of a bath towel or telephone wires wrapped around a tree, Bee’s work lives every day in objects, thoughts, gestures, and studio making – reconciling our animal selves with the order of our constructed worlds.
The work uses reclaimed or reused materials reflecting Bee’s iterative approach to making, where sculptures are continually assembled and disassembled, exploring and reimagining her materials on an on-going basis. The ambiguity around the objects’ past lives adds to their intrigue. Bee works immersed in her material palette from her studio in Bexhill.
Having graduated from Slade School of Fine art in 2024, Bee has since relocated to St Leonards on Sea, founding non-profit project space Unit 2 and working in the third sector alongside her studio practice.
